Interview for foreigners

Today i received an email tat I've to go for an interview next Monday. This interview is for foreign researchers/students for the purpose of knowin' more abt their life in Japan.

A trial with my friend.

He: What is the most challenging thing you've ever experienced in Japan?
Me: Walkin' along the street at night with a temperature of -1 degree, while tryin' hard to finish my Matcha ice-cream.
He: *Shaking head*. I expected you to talk about your work task.

He: What is the most enjoyable thing for you in Japan?
Me: Onsen (Hot spring). I would describe it as heaven.

He: What have you gained here?
Me: Hair. No matter how many N times i said "shorter" to the hairdresser, it still ended up long.

He: What have you lost here?
Me: Weight. 4 meals a day, however the portions of food are so pathetically small here, i barely able to get to use the words "I'm full" here.

He: Is there anything that can be improved on to make your stay in Japan a more enjoyable one?
Me: Yes if you could issue me an unlimited train travel pass to anywhere in Tokyo. I realised I could spend up to 30,000 yen (abt SGD$458) on train alone.

Giving thanks

All these months in Japan, i've been stayin' alone all by myself. Sometimes i was so bored the whole day, and especially at night when i had noone to talk to. I would like to thank those who are always with me throughout this period, showin' their care for me, sparin' their precious time talking to me, coming online for me whenever possible, etc. In this period, i get to know who are those tat really cherish me... i feel so indebted to them. Thank you so much. I think I've learnt alot from this too, i see more clearly now. =)

When time goes by...

We get older everyday. These are pictures of me from a child, to adult, to old man. =)

So when you see me on the street after 30 years, remember to call me.

Yokohama trip

Today met Jesse for steamboat buffet somewhere near Totsuka station, abt an hour train from where i stay. Pretty gd quality, jus a little disappointed tat there weren't any fish, prawn, meat ball, and chicken. However i still pretty much enjoyed the meal, esp with this old friend... always happy to see him. And I had not really spoken English for the past weeks, finally i've a chance today... i can't believe wat i'm doin' here in Japan everyday.

I dropped by Yokohama station and did abit of shopping. A quick shoppin' n i spent like quite abit, in hundreds. To sum up, i bought a Porter bag in Tokyu hands, Porter is a famous brand in Japan, claimed to be very durable (fingers & toes crossed), anyway i m not sure how true it is... will confirm with ya 10 years later. =) I bought some small gifts for the kids, like pencil cases, etc.

This is where i got my bag. a huge shoppin' centre in Yokohama.

My porter bag, a little expensive but I like the color and the material.

Small gifts for the kids, e.g. Delon, didi, etc.

I m such a dreamer today. Went to the gym in the mornin', but forgot to bring my towel so i left without workin' out. Went to the lab, but forgot my key so i didn't manage to get in. And later i realised tat i forgot to bring my usb drive which all my work are in it, so even if i managed to get in i cldn't do anythin'. Wat a bad start to the week!!!
Btw tats not me. Jus to express how i feel.

First day of 2010, all shoppings r closed here in Tokyo. Most restaurants r closed too, fast food restaurants r still available though. Nothin' much to do on this day, quiet on the streets too. Gd day for me to work. Ok again happy new year everyone!!
