Searchin' the whole day for a bear!!

Today since morning i travelled all the way from Yokohama to Harajuku to find this bear Rilakkuma. I totally dun understand wat so cute about this bear, but Irene requested for this particular bear tat she lost some time ago. She bought it here about a year ago, but she couldn't rem the name of the shop so I had to search shop by shop along this whole long and crowded street.

There are many shops along the street, sellin' trendy clothin', shoes, fashion jewelry and cute accessories.

After searchin' for hrs, i finished all shops without findin' wat i wanted. Probably the shop has closed down, or not sellin' tat particular range anymore... this is common.
This is the only shop tat sells this Rilakkuma bear.

I was out of my wits so i ended up buyin' this, which i thought it was the closest i could find there.
When i was abt to leave the shop, i asked the staff where i could find more of these lovely Rilakkuma bears. She advised me to go Kiddy land somewhere 15 mins out of the street. I found it.....
I am not sure if this is the one, it doesn't have a handphone strap like the one i bought earlier. However, tat was the closest i could find there, so i bought it again.
The conclusion is i spent the whole day searchin' for this bear, and in the end i may not have gotten wat she wanted, it may ended up in the bin. I find this really silly and insane. A grown-up man like me spendin' all day searchin' everywhere for a bear... sigh. Ok i gotta do my work, been out the whole day.

Earthquake again

Last Friday i felt the earthquake again, bed was shakin'. But it wasn't as bad as the previous one before this where my cupboard was shakin' too... tat was menacin'. The quake on Friday was quite bad in central Japan, 7 people were injured and more than 20 buildings had been damaged. Tokyo was shaken by a little and there was no damage.

Since i came to Tokyo, i experienced the Typhoon, the quakes and the cold. =) Accordin' to the forecast, with the windchill the temperature in Tokyo will go down to -1°C tonight and -2°C on Monday night. I was half frozen the last few nights when i walked back... terrible feelin'.

Jus now i read a quote which i wrote somewhere long ago, find it really funny and wanna share it here.

-- Women are like cars, we all crave a Ferrari, sometimes a Porsche, but end up with a Toyota. We know it's not the brand but the reliability and maintainability of the car that are important.

Onsens in Japan

Went to several onsens in Miyazaki... yes i reckon getting naked, hot and wet with strangers is really the most quintessentially thing to do here in Japan. One of the important rules of onsen is that it's not allowed to take pictures since everyone is gonna be naked. However i took the risk to take some pictures whenever i could. Of course there are other rules for e.g. to take your shoes off at the entrance and put them in the lockers, wash your body before entering the onsen bath, no large towel into the bathing area, no towel into the onsen bath, etc.

Absolutely stunning environment...

In the night...

For ladies...

For men...

Dressing room to put your clothes...

and get your towels...

Shaving lotion, hair tonic, comb, hair dryer, etc... all are provided...

Before you get into the onsen bath, you need to shower, rinse off all the soap suds thoroughly...

Indoor onsen...

Outdoor onsen...

Hot... but so comfortable...

Another onsen place...

Yes i censored this picture...

Miyazaki trip

Went Miyazaki island with Kumazawa sensei for 3 days conference. Its a beautiful place although its not that popular. Many of the people have never heard of it, neither did i before this trip. On the first early evening, we walked 30 mins along the road and we couldn't see a single person along the way, can you imagine how quiet the place was. And because there are not many people in Miyazaki, the frequency of the buses and trains is about 1 to 2 hours. We couldn't stand the waiting time so we had lotsa walking from one place to another. So in short the trip was all about walking and onsen... nothing much we could do there.

Beautiful isn't it?

Conference venue...

We went to the xmas light up event... was raining though.

I bought some of these for my friends in Tokyo... i love some of them so much... oishii desu yo.

The beaches n resorts/hotels are magnificent. Most of the hotels come with onsen.
Wait... this is not onsen, just an artificial beach.

Buffet lunch, to be frank i didn't enjoy it, quality of food wasn't as good as i expected. And it wasn't cheap too.

We went to a famous beach too by train.
A picture of Kumazawa sensei at the bridge.
