Visiting old aunt

I decided to sleep over at old Aunt's place last night. Was chattin' and yarnin' over hours with her. Ok sometimes she's alittle uncouth and coarse in a way, e.g. complainin' abt the neighbors... how evil they are.... etc etc... and although i dun reckon its really true i still let her go on and on, while laughin' it off. She's 73-year old so jus let her be, and as happy as possible. She's a little absentminded so occasionally will ask the same question again and again, e.g. "Haf ya taken your dinner?" Yes she is very thoughtful and nice to me. I always wanna cherish the time with her, as much as i can. I enjoyed myself with her.

Went to dada's place and the three brothers performed for me, turned on the music (soundtrack of Kung Fu Panda - "Kung Fu fighting" by Carl Douglas) n i called these guys the dancing brothers... sooo cute!

You know wat i did last summer?

Had not taken any pics for long, guess wat i did these two days? Yesterday I met up with one of my best friends Hendrik for movie x-men origins: Wolverine, at Plaza Singapura. I was nearly late... sorry mate. Being an x-men fan, i simply jus luv the movie, so i m not the right person to judge and rate this movie. =) It was jus engrossing to me n kept my attention for the entire two hours.

Today Irene and I went Marina at Keppel bay, which is the centrepiece of Keppel Bay's premier waterfront precinct. It is the only residential development in Singapore to have its own world-class marina on its very own private island.... pretty cool huh?



Next we went to cross the Henderson waves bridge, about 36 metres above Henderson road and one of the highest pedestrian bridges in Singapore. It is built to connect the two hills of Mount Faber and Telok Blangah Hill. The bridge has an unique wave-form and the curved ribs form alcoves that function as shelters with seats within. A good place to lose some weight.

Guardian angel

I didn't like this facebook thing as much as I do now. It's jus awesome how it helps to find your lost friends/classmates/colleagues, etc. Yesterday a sch mate (my junior) who we had never met for the past 10 yrs added and msged me. She wrote this:

"Well frankly speaking, ive been sort of asking ard about you for years, yes YEARS! hope this dun freak u out but u noe whenever im feeling down, u just happened to appear in my dream n console me. My goodness, we din even have a proper chance to know each other back then. haha... i see u as my guardian angel. then it got me to think and wonder how you are doing now...."

Its so touchin' tat somebody had actually been lookin' out for you for years, and even dreamt abt you. I feel flattered n honored tat she takes me as her guardian angel. Although it's jus a hallucination and i dun see myself as an angel, i m glad this helps her whenever she's feelin' down. To be frank i dun rem her at all but from now on i would like to know her more. Thank Eve. =)

Different groups of friends

Yesterday we had a school gatherin' in the evenin' but i couldn't make it... so sorry to my schoolmates who read this... i miss ya guys. Throughout the years of my life, i get to know many different groups of people around me.... and come to think abt it, its quite interestin' how i categorized these groups.

For a certain group, the people would jus non-stop talkin' abt the stock market... which are the lowest rated stocks, which are the best picks, wat are the current prices, etc. Its actually pretty interestin' if ya know some of these, like how it works. But do not get too engrossed into it... hmm... ya may get addicted. I've a friend (not to mention name) who won enough to get himself a condo but within 2 years he lost everythin'. So jus dun get too involved!

For another group, the people are jus sooo... committed to the political issues (local and international) and jus couldn't stop havin' political talks, sharin' their sassy, witty, brilliant and conservative opinions anywhere, e.g. on facebook, or friendster, blog, etc etc... wherever possible. Sometimes i find it too overwhelmed and uncomfortable. But if i could i would really like to nominate him/her to become the next senator, MP, or watever.... i believe they are really the ones.... they are jus amazin' and the country needs people like them.

Another group they are big nerds. They talk about work everywhere they go, even durin' lunch. I remember once i told some of them "I'm goin' for a birthday party at Zouk tonight." They asked "What is zouk? Is it a zoo or something?" Oh my God...!!! I luv ya people, ya are the saints. =)

Last group, we are workout buddies, we jog, run marathons, gym, swim, dragonboat, .boxin', ..blah blah.... together. This is my favorite group. =)

There are also some other groups which i dun wanna go any further, e.g. musical group, buffet group, movie group, etc.

With no doubt, all these groups of friends are nice people.

I dreamed a dream

This video is really heartwarmin', Susan Boyle, a typical batty 47-year old lady, went for an audition for Britain's got talent. Everyone was scornin' or expressin' scepticism when she walked on to the stage, stereotyped by her unpolished appearance -"traditional villager's look", age, etc. Simon Cowell (judge) didn't look too hopeful too when Susan said she wanna be a professional singer like Elaine Paige and when she said she would be singing I dreamed a dream by Les Miserables. But Susan's stunnin' voice changed the view of everybody, amazed the crowd at the bottom of the stage. It was the type of audition that makes the hair stand up on the back of your neck and the tears well in your eyes.

A good lesson for us to learn, do not be too cynical. Everyone has the right to fight for their dreams. See the changes in expressions from the judges and the standin' ovation from the live audience.

Sheddin' my tears

Today i visited a so-called friend, a 7-yr old gal who is sufferin' from some diseases (not gonna mention it here), and barely left with any hair. I find myself so weak, so vulnerable and useless in situation like this, i jus cldn't hold back my tears. I feel very uncomfortable until now... lyin' on the bed all day long, jus dun feel like movin' on with life, and facin' the cruel reality. I believe some of ya had this feelin' before, or perhaps not as weak as me. Maybe tat made ya afraid and tired of life, or afraid of tomorrow. It may also make ya cherish yr loved ones more. And i, after writing this entry all at once, am already brimmin' with tears. A man does not shed his tears easily, jus becos his true nature is untouched.

Humans are the strangest species

I reckon humans are arguably the most bizarre species in the animal kingdom. The proof is in many gross, unnecessary, silly, contradictory and simply inexplicable things we do. Just like how i ended up in Perth, how i tried to scratch myself for hrs and ended up nothin' inches, etc etc. Sometimes i wld wanna msg a friend who we've never talked for long for i dunno wat reason or maybe some misunderstandin' goin' on, but i jus didn't do it. On Friday i received an email tat i may have to go Tokyo for 7 months in Sept for some work and on tat day (Friday) i was quite reluntant to go, but Sat i was kinda happy abt it. And today i am still decidin' if i should go... yes we humans are just so strange. =)

Another day on Earth

Met up with Dr Louis yesterday for lunch. Had been a long time since i last pour everythin' out to someone, nitpickin' on every little thing, e.g. how my two pairs of shoes went broken within the same week, how i lost my way for hrs in middle of the night, etc etc. Yes i know... life still gotta go on after windin'... =)

Ok another day on earth, let us look forward for a better day tomorrow. Do ya guys feel hot lately? For goodness sake i gotta bring those big shades out everyday... ok i m not gonna talk abt ultraviolet radiation n watever ways to prevent risk factor for melanoma... jus take care!!

25 Random things about me (+5)

I grabbed myself a seat at my usual cafe, ordered a drink n now nursing it throughout the long evening. Jus out of the blue I rem the "25 Random things about me" that everyone's doing on facebook. I'll do it right now.

(14 March)
1) Was in the school swim team and wanted to be a national swimmer.
2) Used to top in class n once I got second I loathed that guy.
3) Learnt flying.
4) Used to like the feelin' of moon ridin' among the clouds when I rode the motorbike at the speed of 150km/h.
5) I fell asleep once when I was drivin' a car, n I m a really bad driver. Thank God I m still alive today.
6) I m a perfectionist when it comes to work, serious work!
7) I only like honest people, people who r frank to me.
8) I saved my 1st S$50,000 at the age of 13. A classmate was astounded when he happened to see my bank book.
9) If I could turn back time, I would turn it back to the Year 1991, the year my grandma died.
10) I only like the beef horfun in Singapore.
11) Where is the place I miss most in Sydney? Yes Bondi beach.
12) I m very cautious abt the place to go for my meal, I dun like places tat will leave a smell on my shirt, e.g. bbq restaurants, some foodcourts, etc. I m particular abt smell n wanna smell gd throughout the day.
13) Not many people know my middle name or Chinese name n I dun think its impt since we only call by the first name (Jimmy).
14) Some of my relatives who are much older than me are doctors working in the States, n we met not more than 5 times for the past 10 years.
15) I jog n gym at least once a week.
16) I prefer the natural scent from gd shampoo, shower foam, body gel, mask, etc. rather than perfume.
17) I was in depression several times for trusting the wrong people. Maybe words n promises r meant to be broken.
18) Mum claimed I m too soft-hearted n kind, difficult for me to survive in this ferocity n carnage world. My sister is totally different.
19) I play the piano whenever I m in melancholy mood.
20) My luck was pretty gd in casino, I have never lost a single cent in casino so far. Unfortunately i dun like gamblin' tat much.
21) Favorite fruit juice is avocado + strawberries + banana + carrot + milk.
22) I dun really eat durians n sweets.
23) I learnt some magic tricks, e.g. levitation, coin vanishin', cards trick, emptied can of coke got refilled, etc.
24) I've like more than 10 watches but I dun wear any. Hint: Dun get any watches for me.
25) Once I saw a woman disappeared in the middle of the night in front of me but I still choose to believe tat was illusion, why not esp when i was tired. I m a very scientific person.

Another day in Perth

The day (yesterday) was rather warm... wat i might call an indian summer. I grabbed myself a seat at my favorite cafe as usual, nursed a drink n dabbled at eatin', while the strollers passed me by. I was gettin' so tired fr work... n almost fallen a sleep. Even though i was takin' up a table n really nursin' my drink, the waiter n waitress left me alone, such is one of the joys of Australia... sittin' down in a cafe n nursin' a drink while munchin' on snack food is not seen as a direct threat to the livelihood of the wait staff. I watched the sun disappear behind the nearby buildings while occasionally read fr a book i had brought. Went home pretty early..... my another borin' day in Perth...

She's throwin' tantrums

My notebook computer is throwin' tantrums after a fall n yes it was my fault. Sigh... she doesn't wanna answer me anymore rite now, in defiance of the long hrs i spent with her everyday. I gotta leave her alone for a few days at the service centre... n hopefully she will return in time. I promise i won't let her fall again... =(

My teachin' work as a lecturer starts rather soon... can i still fly around by "shuttle planes"? Hmm... once in one or two week should be fine i guess...

Lonely soul

Weather is pretty gd here, not as humid as I expected. I love this lukewarm weather. But I cldn’t get to sleep at night, I wandered around the streets as best I could. There was no end of loneliness, real utter loneliness which dragged in the pit of my stomach. I cld devote 2 to 3, or more nights a week to sitting in one of my favorite cafes… waitin' for another day to kill itself. I wanna fly back as soon as possible. I miss ya guys badly! :(
