Trip to Nippon Steel Corp. in Chiba Japan

We had a trip to Nippon Steel Corporation in Chiba for the first day, and an overnight stay at Tomiura resort, followed by a group presentation on the second day. Overall it was pretty fun and enjoyable, with awesome people including sensei, food, onsen, and resort, wat else could i ask for?

Ok back to Nippon steel corp, its located on the shores of Tokyo bay, the Kimitsu works occupied a total area of 220 times that of Tokyo dome, Japan's largest domed stadium. It is Japan's largest steel consuming region, the kimitsu work ranks at the top in Japan for producing quality products.

Sensei and staff of Nippon Steel Corp.

That's Musa, one of our TA. He's a funny and nice guy, glad to have met him there. Yeah we gotta wear like a power ranger to enter the nippon steel site.

Pics of the site.

Largest blast furnace in the world?

Tats me, wasn't really comfortable with all the stuff i was wearin'.

After all the violence of hot steel and the accumulated dust collected at the plant, we finally had our buffet dinner in the resort. Would really wanna thank sensei for arrangin' all these for us. =)

Our room.... pretty ok.

Our resort's pool.

My lovely group members.

Presentation.

Firman started the ball rollin'.

Followed by Tei.

Then me.

And concluded by our group leader James.
Group leader was givin' the smirkin' smile after our group won the 2nd prize.

Had our lunch here before we got back to Tokyo.

Semester End Party (in Japan)

Yesterday was the end of the semester, and we had a party celebration for tat. We were talkin' abt the japanese culture and lotsa "Gan bei" (drink up), everyone was drunk... but really fun. =)

The followin' two pics below were taken in one of our three labs... yes abit messy. =)

This is the place where we usually haf our lunch, and we had our party here in the evenin'.

Gatherin' at the beginnin'. The one in brown is Fukushi san, in black is Satoshi san (very funny guy, sitting next to me in the lab), and the other one is a french Quivy san.

The shared dishes we had.

The one in flowery black is Haraguchi san.
Beginnin' of the meal, not drunk yet. =)

Funny expressions. =) Gd food?

1/2 drunk....

Final dish, pizza.

Gettin' drunk. Satoshi san said he wanna show me the real Japanese culture (drinking), so he drank more than anyone else... and we forced him to.

Yochi san was drunk.

One man down, went back to the lab and he slept for an hour+.

We had our game session after the party at another one of our labs.

Haraguchi san was showin' the Japanese kawaii move. =)
Yes everyone was drunk, I was quite badly drunk too, threw out twice in the washroom after the party... the feelin' was terrible. Not gonna drink tat much again. The food was ok, not much though (not buffet), and I reckon it wasn't really tat fantastic. It was a pretty expensive meal too for a canteen environment and that portion of canteen food, abt $18,000yen (S$280) for 9 of us. However the gatherin' was fun, with all the awesome people here.

Happy chinese new year

Happy chinese new year. I believe many of ya are already in the festival mood now, thinkin' of how and where to celebrate after all the formal visits. I reckon CNY is one of the longest festivity in the Lunar calendar. Its hilarious when ya think abt it, this festival makes people willin' to pour out their money to give red packets (with money) to relatives n friends, buy presents, decoration, food, and clothing. Every family is also willing to thoroughly cleans the house, windows, doors, etc. jus for tat day.

I missed out alot of CNY as i was in Aust, and most of them time i was still havin' classes on tat particular day. There's no CNY in Aust. Now I'm in Japan, there's no CNY here too, the following day after CNY (Mon) i still have a meetin' to attend. However, i still wanna wish everyone a happy new year, and enjoy yrself. =)
