A day of exhaustion

Yesterday i had two events, boxing in the morning and evening 42km marathon. I'm really fortunate to have some awesome friends who are always there to support me, thank ya very much ppl. i didn't give up no matter how worn-out i was bcos i knew i had these awesome ppl there to support me. I hurt my nose a little and it was bleeding inside. No time to see doc yesterday, will go later.

Sundown 42km marathon was cool, went with some friends. But i was really tired even before the run. James cldn't attend in the last min due to ankle injury.

My nose was bleeding again during the 33km. My towel was like red, so gross. The staff stopped me and asked if i wld like to fall out. Of course i wun wanna give up at tat time, i was only 9km away to the finishing line. Had a tough fight with Dennis. We overtook each other many times throughout the 42km. In the last 4km, he overtook me and ran all the way to the finishing line. I lost to him by 2mins+. BUT he was like almost dead after the run. He couldn't hold his breath, heart pain and even his face was cramped. I was soooo... worried and went to look for the first aids post. The ambulance came right after. Thank God tat he is fine now... i almost lost a buddy. it was partially my fault. =(

死ぬほど辛いタイラーメンfor dinner

Had a very spicy dinner today... HOT!! And I am really fuming today!!!
1) I received several calls and smses today asking abt my hands. Someone mentioned tat my hands were shivering on my tagboard here. YES I admit tat for the past few weeks my hands were shivering or shaking or some of ya call it tremoring. The main reason is becos of over workout, and a slight injury. PLEASE do not mention smthing like this here again. Ya know it well tat i've a match next week, how ya reckon the opponent wld feel when he read/know abt this? It will boost his morale and confidence. And it wld also make some of my friends worry for nothing. I am perfectly fine.

2) Why were ya guys arguing on my tagboard here again?? Come on, its jus a friendly match and I will be fine. If i have to lose so badly till i've to crawl back home, jus let it be! Daniel, ya should know me pretty well, I'm not afraid of anything, I am not afraid to lose too!!! I've a race next week too, a S$800 race. I believe i'll lose due to some injuries, but it doesn't really matter... i somehow dun wish to win too. =)

3) Cat msged me today and asked me to be her live pianist+sing on her birthday party. She even wrote "I can pay you hourly". Come on!!! I am not a part-time entertainer!!! Ok I admit tat I do receive some cash for each of my performance, but i do tat bcos i enjoy being with these people, not really bcos of the money!!!!! So please understand tat, thanks.

HOT ANGRY BIRD!!! (Edited by MingMing) =)

Late dinner at Marina Bay Sands

Our little princess Xue finished her exam, i brought her to Marina Bay Sands for dinner. I was abit late so i called it late dinner, started abt 9pm. Its on the 57 floor (SkyPark) which the view there is magnificent. I ordered a bottle of champaign to celebrate for her but ended up i finished most of it by myself. =P The food were good, we both like it. The price was not too bad either, abt S$600+ for two including the S$200 champaign. We stayed and walked around till 12am+, i drove so it was alright, sent her home after. Congratulation Xue, enjoy your holiday. =)

Back home, still sober (not drunk). =)

你不在

Last few days at ktv I heard Jonathan sing this song "你不在", was really cool. Tat was the first time i heard this song. Jus wanna share with ya guys. I'm beginning to like the songs from this guy "Lee Hom".

I like the lyrics too, try to type out some of the lyrics:

当世界只剩下这床头灯
。。。。
我侧身感到你在转身
无数陌生人正在等下一个绿灯
。。。。
如果渴望一个吻的余温
我关了灯黑暗把我拼吞
。。。。
。。。。
你不在 当我最需要爱 你却不在
无尽等待像独白般难挨
你不在 高兴还是悲哀 你都不在
我受了伤在偷偷好起来
但你不在 不在
。。。。
。。。。

Hmm... and pls do not drop me too much ques here, i don't check my tagboard tat often. Thanks.

Late and late...

Today i submitted the letter and dunno why one of my colleagues was like soooo... happy... hahaa. I told him "Hey i've not found a greener pasture, wat so happy abt?" Its gd to see people happy, i dun mind even if i've to go. =) I'm looking out for flight to Aust, I miss Ben, Gaetan, Jennifer, June, Beatrice, etc.

Yesterday i was working in the office until ZL called me at 7.30pm and uttered tat she had reached my place for practise. I rushed home and was like an hour late. Today is Jonathan's birthday and he booked a KTV room and i was late for abt an hour again. =P I went home and change so it took me quite a while to reach the venue. Sorry everyone!! Chris, James, ZL, Joanne, Andy, etc... everyone was there too. We find it alittle bizarre to see each other at KTV... haha. Usually we play our own musical instruments and do not need to go KTV. Anyway i did enjoy myself, didn't drink too much and didn't stay too long, left rather early.

Btw recently friends around me were talking abt charity/social work. Usually each of us has a small amount of pay ($300-1200) for our performances, but we are contributing all to charity this time. Furthermore, Ade has been suggesting to me abt some volunteering/social work opportunities, and I've agreed to go with her. I hope i can help make a difference in people's lives too. =)

I've injuries everywhere, and tonight i tried and i could only do 2 pull-ups. My shoulder still hurts so much. =( Maybe i should stop the boxing training for a week or two, i'm not a robot. In abt 2 weeks time its my 42km sundown marathon, and i'm not ready for it yet, sigh.

是否一颗星星变了心

Today i heard a song at a shop, i performed this song three times since Uni, time flies... i almost dun rem this song. I like this part of the lyrics: 是否一颗星星变了心 从前的愿望 也全都被抛弃.

My poor little boy

My poor little dada fell from the bicycle during the weekend when he was cycling at the park with his dad. I feel so sorry and heart pain!! He's soooo... cute, when i asked him if he did go see a doc, he answered "Cannot, no use, cannot take out!" Hahaaa.... i didn't understand him initially.

I love the weekend...

I enjoyed the weekend soooooooooooooooooooo.... much. Had my swim, boxing, midnight cycling, run (later), favorite prata, and attended a D&D with mum and aunt, etc. My partner is my lovely mummy. =) Mum introduced some of her friends to me, they are really so taitai, trademarked by their LV bags, talking abt properties, shoppings, casino gambling, etc. Anyway i was happy chatting with them. They addressed me as Dr Lee, i'm not too used to it yet. =) I reckon in life the most impt factor is to keep yrself staying happy.... while sparing some time with family. I'm also extremely happy to see some of my "old friends" again.

Putting the fun aside, I've two Asst Professor invitations (one in Korea and one in Singapore) and i'm still wondering if i should go for the interviews. Ade encouraged me to go for the Korea one as she luv Korea so much... hahaa, she's hoping to work in Korea. The thing is i'm not sure if i should jus stay put giving myself some time to help in the restaurant. Asst Prof is a rather busy job, research and teaching simultaneously. Anyway i'll think abt it again maybe tomorrow, wanna cherish this beautiful weekend. =P

Singapore's polling day

Today is the polling day of Singapore, over 2.3 million Singaporeans are eligible to vote at the General Election. There are 87 seats in 27 constituencies to be contested this time round. My aim of this entry is totally neutral and not to influence the choices of voters. Voting is secret, everyone has a reason to vote. This General Election is a rather watershed election, never before we have high profile Opposition candidates who are taking the path less troden to speak up for Singaporeans to right wat seems to go wrong with our policies. From my very personal point of view, unbiased by any rally talks, i find tat Singapore ruling party (PAP) has pursued economity growth throughout the years (maybe at the expense of certain things), we can't deny this credit which goes to them. And no doubt MM Lee Kuan Yew (founder of PAP) has contributed alot for Singapore, looking back from the earlier stage of Singapore to its current stage, I personally respect him alot. The PAP is nice in its way, this time round again a generous S$3.2 billion Growth and Share package have been given to Singaporeans before the polling day, equivalent to few hundred dollars per person. I'm not too sure abt the exact amount, have not checked mine yet. =)

Nevertheless, some of the opposition parties are rather popular, e.g. the worker party lead by Mr Low Thia Khiang, and the National Solidarity Party (NSP) with this new 24-year old candidate Nicole Seah (arguably the most popular politician in this election). Here are a few tongue-in-cheek movie posters featuring them, really hilarious.

Nicole Seah cried at her last rally for this election while detailing her encounter with a poor family. She was saddened when a mother told her she cldn't get help to fund her son's S$80 tuition fees. She lambasted the PAP's policies and questioned abt its performance in the last five years. She also criticized the PAP's housing policies which have led to sky-rocketing prices as well as the relentless influx of foreigners into Singapore. A really funny speech by her... she said "Our population shot up by 26 percent over the past 10 years. Last time when I was in primary school, I take the train, I see Singaporeans everywhere I go. Now, everytime I take the train, I feel I am in a different country. It’s like taking a holiday, I don’t even need to bring my passport". Yeah she's popular, she's a star to many people.

Ok abt the turnout for the rallies, the worker party has one of the highest turnouts for its rallies, with over 40,000 people for one of its rallies.

In contrast, the turnout for PAP rallies was not so optimistic. However, the size of the turnout at election rallies is not an accurate predictor of the level of support of the parties. In the 2006 elections, the PAP rallies had poor turnout too compared to the opposition's, but it won over 60% of the votes on the polling day. There are large numbers of Singaporeans who never bother to attend PAP rallies but still will cast a vote for it on the polling day. It could be bcos the PAP's speeches can be more easily found/heard from the media.

Some of the people are showing their anger towards the PAP. Hmmm... maybe the wrong ways.

To end this entry, i would like to urge everyone to vote for whichever party you wanna vote for, from the bottom of your heart. I heard from many of them tat they are afraid to vote for the party they support, due to several silly reasons. Your vote is important and confidential, I'm hoping to see a fair game.

Bad rehearsal

Jus back home and had my shower, a really tiring day... not feeling too well. Today we had our first rehearsal, a rather bad one. I seemed to have some coordination problems with ZL, was all my fault as we did not have enough practise before tat. Yesterday (on the 4th) i had totally forgotten abt our practise and ended up having dinner alone at Suntec. Chris commented tat the way i played the piano jus now reminded him of himself when he was in high sch, tat wasn't a compliment btw. ZL was gd, doing her part well so it wasn't her fault. And she was also there helping me patiently with some chinese words and pronouncation. E.g. "沿途雨季泥濘 偶爾阻礙我們的前進 感到妳的體溫在我懷裡 像陽光和煦".... some chars here i dunno how to read.

Tomorrow (friday) some friends are giving me a celebration in the evening for having completed my oral defense. I've not met some of them for really long, i miss ya people. =) Singapore Election is near, wanted to talk abt it here but its late now (2am+), will talk abt it again tomorrow. Gdnite people.

Today i received this compression sleeveless t-shirt from US. This singlet can be used for training, and also help in recovery. I've lotsa injuries as some of ya should know, from training, boxing, etc. I hurt my hand and shoulder not long ago, and now more... =(

See the red swollen patches (circled in red) on my body?? All these hurt too... if i die one day, pls rem me!! =)
